Timmons Design Engineers, Inc. (TDE) provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Sustainable design for the Doha Office Building that consists of approximately 5,885 sq. meters of commercial office space located in the Fox Hills district of Lusail, Qatar.

Lusail is a new, urban development that is envisioned to provide a cutting edge and modern face to Qatar and will contain residential, commercial, entertainment and hospitality facilities. The Fox Hills district will be one of the major centers of the new development and will focus on commercial, civic and residential projects. As part of the Lusail vision, all buildings are to be as sustainable in nature and this project will exemplify how a medium scale office building can perform as well as or better than projects larger in size and reputation.

The goal of this project is to have an energy independent, carbon neutral building. As the proposed office building will be situated in close proximity to the ocean, measures will be taken to utilize the natural resources available. The building services and building fabric design will be designed to achieve acceptable indoor comfort for all occupants. To maintain these comfort conditions, the building services and fabric will control the internal air temperature, radiant temperature, air speed and humidity. The most ambitious goal of this project is to be energy independent, where all power needed by the building will be produced on site or procured from a renewable energy source.
